I took a break from the computer over the weekend to try and give myself a break from screens and social media. Although I was dreading the weekend, it was actually a pretty good one.
Days 6 and 7 (March 21 and 22)
We went for walks, watched movies, played board games, and just relaxed. We don’t do a whole lot most weekends, but it seemed like we really made the most of our time this weekend. Of course, Sunday afternoon our governor Mike DeWine announced a stay-at-home order so I had some anxiety and a slight meltdown Sunday night. But after that I felt better and was able to sleep well to get ready for day 8.
Day 8 (March 23)
Last night, I picked out a workout that I planned to do before work today. I got up at my regular non-running time (5:43) and headed down to the basement where I did a 1,000 reps workout (10 exercises, 10 reps, 10 times through) and I was at my “office” by 7.
The kids were good today. Rose did spend most of the morning watching TV, and Liam played quietly while I worked. After some lunch, Liam took a nap and I worked while Rose did some paintings for her/our friends. Then, we went out for a walk (shorter than usual because it was kinda cold).
My hubby found out that his plant will be staying open and people are encouraged to work from home if they can, but he can’t really do so in his position so he will have to continue going into the office. Luckily, there aren’t many people there now so it’s easier for him to keep his distance. I have Lysol wipes by the door so as soon as he gets home and washes his hands I can disinfect the door handle, etc. He is now our designated grocery getter as well, since there’s no sense in me being in public as well as him. Hopefully that strategy will work, but I would definitely feel better if he was self-isolating as well.
Time for my now-daily evening beer while watching Finding Nemo with the kiddos. Until tomorrow!
