Hi! This is my round-up of Tuesday and Wednesday, also known as quarantine days 37 and 38.
Day 37 (April 21)
Tuesday seemed like the longest and stupidest day in the history of days. I had several instances of realizing it was only Tuesday and wondering how that was possible. I actually think I dislike Tuesdays more than Mondays. My brain felt foggy and I couldn’t focus on anything. There was no real reason for this other than the general quarantine bleh.
Despite the perceived length of the longest day ever, it wasn’t a BAD day necessarily. I had a good workout and a short run in the morning, the kids behaved decently, and we went for a hike in the woods. I drove my car there so I know for sure that it still works. I mostly just found myself with less patience for my kids and myself. Rose asks a lot of questions that I don’t know the answers to, and it’s usually when I’m trying to work, which makes me short with her and easily frustrated.
I also had trouble falling asleep, but once I did get to sleep I slept decently; just not for as long as I would have liked.
Day 38 (April 22)
Today, Wednesday, was a much better day. Once again, I started the day with a workout (this time a 6-mile run outside). I really think waking up early to exercise has been my saving grace. Before the quarantine I might get up early to work out a couple of mornings a week, but that was back when I had the option of exercising on my lunch break. These days, if I don’t get it done before the kids are up, it doesn’t get done.
I had a few meetings but not an overbearing number. I had a “happy hour” mid-afternoon with some teammates where we played games over Zoom and it made me happy to do something so normal (even though that’s not anything we had done prior to this). I laughed way too hard at this T-shirt design…
We finished the day up with a walk around the neighborhood. Today is warmer outside than it has been recently, so I want to take advantage of that, especially since we are supposed to get rain tomorrow and over the weekend. I am so ready for warmer spring weather; sunshine and warmth makes things so much more bearable right now.
