Hi, friends! I hope everyone had a good weekend and a decent Monday. We had a really nice weekend, thanks to some great weather, and now we are in the midst of about four days straight of rain. Fun!
Days 63-65 (May 16-18)
We finally had a warm weekend where we could spend the majority of our time outside. It was just what we needed.
On Saturday, Ben got up early and went for a run while the kids and I had a leisurely breakfast and then headed outside to start playing. Ben ended up running 20 miles, holy cow! Once he was back and showered I started pressure washing our back deck, siding, and patio. It was my first time pressure washing and holy crap it was satisfying! Especially the siding part.
Ben has been working on a border for the garden around our deck so he continued working on that all weekend. I ran a mile on Saturday to keep up my current run streak, and then I tried to take the kids for a walk. We made it 12 minutes before it started raining so we headed back to the car and called it a day.
On Sunday I went for my long run and made it a little over 16 miles. It was humid so I was slow but it was nice to have that time to myself. I had some lazy time after I got back while Liam napped, and then the four of us went on a walk in the afternoon and got caught in the rain on the way back. It was a fun walk and we got in another 2.3 miles so all good news for my virtual trip across Tennessee (I am currently in Selmer, TN).
Monday was back to business as usual. I calculated that Rosie watched six hours of TV. That made me decide to try and put a little more structure in her day, but it’s hard because I can’t really play with her or help her with anything during the day while I’m working. TV is easier, but it turns her into a huge pile of emotions when I tell her it’s time to turn it off.
On Monday I also replaced a broken toilet seat and installed a magnetic knife holder on our wall to free up some counter space (and get the knives further away from small hands).
Hopefully this week will go quickly since it doesn’t look like we will be able to get outside much.
